The fifth character in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass may have been leaked and it’s a big one, or at least it will be to western fans. It’s possible that a huge character could be coming to the game in the near future.

Potential spoilers for the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character are below the crying Pikachu. Turn back now if you don’t want to learn more.

According to the latest leak, the next DLC character to be added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Gordon Freeman from the Half-Life series. The leak comes from a person named Monsun, who had previously leaked the existence of Half-Life: Alyx back in October and they accurately revealed lots of details about the game. According to Game Rant, Monsun also revealed that Gordon Freeman was coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Monsun claimed that Goron would be revealed during the 2019 Game Awards, that it would be one of the later announcements made during the show, and that the G-Man would appear during the trailer.

There are plenty of reasons to be skeptical about this leak. It’s entirely possible that Monsun had legitimate information about Half-Life: Alyx but decided to add the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveal as a goof. The Half-Life series as a whole is certainly important enough to be represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but Gordon Freeman has no discerning character traits, though at least it will be easy to find a voice actor for him.

The majority of the weapons in the Half-Life series are conventional firearms, but there are a few cool science-fiction guns that he could use in battle. Gordon Freeman would likely use the crowbar as his melee weapon, with the Gravity Gun and the Pheropods being some of the most potentially interesting weapons in his arsenal.

We won’t have to wait long until the truth about the leak is revealed, as the 2019 Game Awards are due to take place on December 13, 2019.
