It hasn’t even hit store shelves or online marketplaces yet, but Immortals: Fenyx Rising already has big plans for post-launch DLC. The game is a new action-adventure title being published by Ubisoft and developed by its studio in Quebec. With comparisons drawn to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Immortals: Fenyx Rising sets players on a quest to free the gods of the Greek Pantheon. Aided by those same gods, Fenyx will discover their own powers, explore vast, magical lands, and combat legendary monsters, like the Cyclops or Medusa.
Immortals: Fenyx Rising will launch on December 3 and eventually receive three expansions plus a season pass to go along with them. The DLC will introduce new gods, playable characters, and areas to the game’s mythical world.
Growing the mythos
The first of these expansions will take place after the game’s main story wraps up. Players will assume the role of the newly-minted god Fenyx in this adventure, titled A New God. Fenyx will have to overcome challenges set by the other gods of the Parthenon to earn their favor, and eventually, a place in their inner circle. However, the real test will be challenging the king of gods, Zeus.
Moving into a new realm is the game’s second DLC, Myths of The Eastern Realm. Instead of playing as Fenyx and dealing with the Greek gods and all of their drama, this expansion throws players into the world of Chinese mythology. The adventure will follow Ku, the last remaining human on Earth after a war breaks out between heaven and the mortal world. Players must set out to restore balance to the two realms. Naturally, this chunk of new content will take place in a brand new world filled with new creatures to test Ku’s mettle.
The Lost Gods is the final bit of DLC that will eventually come to Immortals: Fenyx Rising. In this last adventure, Fenyx will recruit the help of a mortal, Ash, to unite the gods of Olympus once more. While Fenyx can’t interfere personally, nobody ever said anything about recruiting a mortal to fight the good fight. Ash must take up Fenyx’s mantle and reunite the gods Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, Demeter, and Boreas with the Pantheon and save the world.
While pricing details for these expansions or the game’s eventual season pass haven’t been listed yet, they’re sure to appear on its various store pages. Immortals: Fenyx Rising will be available for PC on December 3 via the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store.
