Activision has unveiled the official launch trailer for Destiny 2. A cinematic story trailer of sorts, it shows off some of the environments in the game, and expands on the new threat coming to Earth from the Cabal leader, Dominous Ghaul, who believes he alone is worthy. It even has a few sullen character monologues and lighthearted quips to give it some soul. Oh, and shout out to the random chicken.
The Speaker has been imprisoned by the leader of the Cabal, and the Tower has been crushed. Humanity has fallen, that Ghaul chap and his Red Legion army are on Earth, bossing matters like a typical alien. So it’s down to the player and their band of survivors to team up and take back control, before everything ends.
Destiny 2’s campaign is definitely a much bleaker affair, and has that air of a suicide mission after the fall of humanity, which is in stark contrast to the hero epic that the first game delivered.
Destiny 2 is out on September 6 for PS4, Xbox One. The PC version will release on October 24.
