The FR 5.56, better known as the FAMAS is a popular weapon in Call of Duty: Warzone.  At the beginning of Season 5, this weapon received a well-deserved buff, which increased its damage range. However, a new issue has emerged with the under barrel shotgun attachment for this weapon. The broken attachment is destroying any enemy player that is unfortunate enough to cross paths with it.

Has the FR 5.56 glitch made the weapon too over powered?

A plethora of Call of Duty: Warzone players have shared clips demonstrating the over powered FR 5.56 under barrel shotgun. Call of Duty: Warzone streamer Tyler “TeePee” Polchow showed the FR 5.56 weapon attachment in action. The clip clearly shows how broken the attachment has become, as it is easily able to eliminate, or crack enemy armor with just one shot. Also, this weapon can be utilized at range, which is not typical of a shotgun. In fact, the shotgun attachment is now able to achieve one-hit kills from up to 15 meters away.

That’s just too far

Infinity Ward has announced that they are working on a fix. On Twitter, they explained, “We’ve identified the issue with the FR 5.56 and we are currently working on a fix.” Currently, it is unknown when there will be a fix as Infinity Ward will “share more details as they become available.” Then, IW closed its message by thanking fans for their patience.

Unfortunately, many Call of Duty: Warzone players are now using this class to achieve easy kills against enemy players. Hopefully, this issue will not be sticking around for much longer. Until Infinity Ward implements a fix, you will just have to hope you do not run into someone using this attachment on the FR 5.56. Luckily, once the shotgun shells have been used, you are only able to refill them using ammo boxes, meaning the bug has less of an impact.
