Since launch, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has had its fair share of issues. The game has suffered problems with weapon balance, broken spawns, and players glitching through maps to earn easy kills. However, of all the issues in the game, players were particularly upset about an update that seemed to stealth add friendly player collision. It seems that player collision was, however, a mistake, as Infinity Ward is now “looking into” the issue.

On Reddit, Infinity Ward’s Joel Emslie revealed that the team is looking into the problem. While he wasn’t sure whether the fix was ready to go or still being worked on, it at least means that the developer is acknowledging the issue, and a change should be in the pipeline. Fan feedback to player collision was harsh, especially after videos of players trolling their teammates in Modern Warfare by pushing them into enemy fire started to circulate online.

While fans have been quick to criticize Infinity Ward over the issues in the game, the developer has done a good job of adding new content since Modern Warfare’s release. Season One added a variety of content to the game, including new operators Nikto and Mara. While that certainly doesn’t excuse the more severe issues in Modern Warfare, at least fans can look forward to more content down the line.

Infinity Ward has also been teasing a big update for Modern Warfare, which will likely bring with it plenty of major changes that fans have been asking for. Fans will just have to wait and see what that update actually brings, though hopefully, it will solve many of the issues that have been bugging players.

There are still plenty of different directions that Modern Warfare could go in the future. Right now, it has the groundwork to be both a live service game or a more traditional shooter, though so far it’s managed to strike a balance between both. Fixing the player collision issue is a good start for some of the bugs in the game, though it still desperately needs features like a map vetoing system. That being said, at least fans know that fixes are on the way.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
