Infinity Ward has moved to calm internet chatter that Modern Warfare 2 will introduce a premium level multiplayer experience. The supposed subscription service would also offer support for competitive play.
Those ready to pull the pin on Infinity Ward can now relax a little, with community manager Robert Bowling stating on the developer’s forums that multiplayer will always remain free and equal.
“This rumour has absolutely nothing to do with Infinity Ward or our games, including Modern Warfare 2,” posted Bowling. “We would never introduce such a system for Modern Warfare 2 so don’t worry.
“Multiplayer will always be equal and free for everyone as always.”
Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled for release on November 10 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
