As is typical, Apple’s September keynote address saw the reveal of brand new iPhones. This time around, Apple unveiled the iPhone 11, in addition to pricier versions called the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. The iPhone 11’s most striking difference from its predecessor, the iPhone XR, is the addition of dual 12-megapixel cameras on the back. The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, meanwhile, have three cameras.
The iPhone 11 line of phones will be available for pre-order starting this Friday, September 13. The first wave of phones will then release on September 20. The iPhone 11 will have even more variants than usual, with a number of different color options available at launch, in addition to different storage options. The storage options range from 64GB-256GB for the standard iPhone 11, whereas the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will have storage options available from 64GB to 512GB.
As far as price goes, the most basic version of the iPhone 11 will cost $699. The iPhone 11 Pro max with all the bells and whistles will cost $1,099. Pricing will vary based on what version of the iPhone 11 consumers decide to pick up, and how much storage space they want.
The iPhone 11 is powered by the new A13 processor, and it will run iOS 13. iOS 13 will feature a number of improvements and upgrades from the previous iteration of the operation system. Video recording and editing will be a major focus of the iPhone 11, especially in regards to the three-camera iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. As explained by Apple, “Each camera in the triple-camera system records brilliant 4K video with extended dynamic range and cinematic video stabilization.”
Something else that may please iPhone users is that the iPhone 11 will offer an improved battery life over previous iterations of the phone. Overall, Apple says users can expect about four to five hours of additional battery life with the iPhone 11 line of phones.
As far as gaming goes, the iPhone 11 will of course be compatible with the Apple Arcade service, and its power will ensure that even more complex games can run on the phone. An example given during the keynote address was a game called Pascal’s Wager, which offers more detailed graphics than past iOS games and has Dark Souls-style gameplay.
iPhone 11 will start shipping on September 20.
