Iron Man VR was originally announced for the PlayStation VR back in May, and was slated to release sometime in 2019. Now, with a new trailer, the official release date has been revealed and it shows that the game has been slightly delayed.

The trailer in question highlights the foe that Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, will be facing in the virtual reality game. Marvel villain Ghost is present as a taunting nemesis throughout the video, not letting Stark forget his past as a weapons dealer.

Iron Man VR is now set to release on February 28th, 2020. There’s no official explanation for the delay, but thankfully fans won’t have to wait for very long past 2019 to pick up the title. Judging from the appearance of the trailer, it looks like fans can expect to both pilot the Iron Man suit and to walk around as Stark in first-person, as pictured during a conversation with Nick Fury.

The Iron Man VR trailer also makes it clear that the game won’t entirely be flying and shooting things down. A brief portion shows Iron Man repairing a plane wing and patching up a large gash in a Stark plane. It’s unclear how well Iron Man’s abilities will affect Ghost. She’s seen in the trailer grabbing Iron Man and hitting him, giving the trailer a bit of a first-person jumpscare.

It’s a good time to be a comics fan and gamer. The Marvel universe is also receiving another game in the form of Marvel’s Avengers, which is being developed by Crystal Dynamics. Although fans had mixed responses to the game’s initial reveal, new gameplay footage, a sixth playable character, and Thor’s redesign have helped to intrigue fans.

Of course, that’s just on the Marvel side of things. DC Comics fans have plenty to look forward to, too. The inclusion of the Joker in Mortal Kombat 11 as a DLC character is one such thing to be excited about. However, fans can also look forward to the Batman himself returning to games with the teased Batman Court of Owls game.

For now, Iron Man VR remains a PlayStation exclusive. While this might be disappointing to owners of other VR headsets, it should help to boost the list of available titles for the VR system, helping to prove that PlayStation VR is still worth it.

Iron Man VR will launch exclusively for the PlayStation 4 VR on February 28, 2020.
