Epic Games’ Fortnite became an instant hit when its battle royale mode launched way back in 2016, and since then the publisher has maintained its status as an industry leader with incredibly diligent post-launch support. These frequent updates have seen special crossover events, live music events, and the release of all-new gameplay modes. Now, it seems Epic is set to deliver another, and it might very well prove its most popular yet. Here’s what you need to know about the Fortnite first person shooter mode.

Is Fortnite Getting a First-Person Mode?

As yet, there is no official word from Epic Games about any sort of Fortnite first person mode. That being said, well-known Fortnite leaker Hypex has today revealed on Twitter that, according to their sources, Epic Games is working on some sort of game mode that uses a first person camera. It is said to be early in development and there are precious few details beyond the single image you can see below.

As for what the first person mode is for, we have no idea for the time being. It could be that it’s for a limited-time event or a brand new game mode. As noted in HypeX’s tweet, first-person gameplay would indeed be good in combination with Zero Build for a mode that focused entirely on competitive gunplay.

For now, that’s everything there is to know about the Fortnite first person shooter mode. As soon as we have new information we’ll keep you posted with more coverage.
