High on Life, the latest creation from Rick and Morty’s brainchild Justin Roiland, is finally here.

Developed by Squanch Games – you play a bounty hunter trying to put a stop to an alien invasion at the hands of the G3 cartel.

Thankfully, you have some very cute – and deadly – weapons at your disposal, in the form of living aliens called Gatlians (Roiland even voices one of them).

Sounds like it would be a lot of fun with two people in co-op? Sadly we have some bad news…

Is High on Life multiplayer?

This means that cooperative and PVP modes do not exist, and there is absolutely nothing suggesting they will arrive to High on Life at any time soon.

For those who fancy working together as a team to wipe out a load of aliens, you may want to check out Aliens: Fireteam Elite, which swaps the laughs and slapstick for raw sci-fi horror and suspense.

For PC players, Borderlands 3 offers fun drop in, drop out co-op, while Warzone 2 (especially with its proximity chat feature switched on) and Modern Warfare 2’s Spec Ops mode, can also offer a ton of laughs as well as deliver a fun co-op experience.

The good news, though, for those who are close to or have finished the game, the prospect of DLC at some point in the future does look promising.

On the Steam page, the game developers Squanch, writes: “We would love to continue to create new content for this game, but can not confirm anything at this time.”

So, while multiplayer seems very unlikely, there at least may be some new High on Life content coming our way in the future… we hope!

Will High on Life have multiplayer?

No. The game is single player only and nothing has been confirmed about any multiplayer element being added at some point in the future.
