George R. R. Martin’s A Games of Thrones book series features numerous noble houses, both small and large, lowly vassals and Great Houses. House of the Dragon shifts gears by pouring its attention on House Targaryen and their bloody history, when the Targaryens were at the height of their power. A few recognizable names show up, like Stark and Lannister, but is House Greyjoy in House of the Dragon, too?
WARNING: The following section contains possible spoilers for House of the Dragon and the source material, Fire & Blood.
Is House Greyjoy in House of the Dragon?
No, House Greyjoy is not in House of the Dragon, but it isn’t outside the realm of possibility. While House of the Dragon focuses mostly on House Targaryen and family infighting, a few notable characters from the other Great Houses do make an appearance and have minor but important roles, House Greyjoy included.
It’s during the Dance of the Dragons that House Greyjoy, led by Dalton Greyjoy, joins forces with Rhaenyra Targaryen in order to cripple Aegon II. Since Season 1 of House of the Dragon only covers the events before the Dance of the Dragons, that means—and this is just speculation—that House Greyjoy’s earliest appearance could be Season 2.
Again, House Greyjoy isn’t in House of the Dragon, but that could change as the season unfolds. For more on House of the Dragon, read up on who Crabfeeder is, the pirate mentioned in season 1, episode 2. Afterward, find out who’s died so far in House of the Dragon.
