A couple of weeks ago, Meta announced their Meta Quest Pro at their annual Meta Connect 2022 event.
Amidst the rush of hearing about the upcoming $1,499 VR headset releasing on the 25th October, the rumoured Meta Quest 3 was seemingly swept under the carpet by Meta.
However, while the Meta Connect event was airing (it was pre-recorded), Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and they engaged in a lengthy interview conversation regarding the two companies’ partnership together.

Zuckerberg dropped a huge bombshell during the interview:
Meta Quest 3 release date prediction
So, essentially, Zuckerberg is confirming that at some point we will see the Meta Quest 3, though it won’t be released any time soon.
We’re being told that the Meta Quest 3 is the next generation of VR – and if PSVR 2 and Meta Quest Pro are this generation’s VR, we might not see the Meta Quest 3 for quite some time.
We know that Meta have planned to get four of their headsets onto the market within the next couple of years, with the next Quest device likely to release in 2023 at some point.
When is the Meta Quest 3 coming out?
The Meta Quest 3 is predicted to release at some point in 2023, likely next October after their Meta Connect 2023 event.
Should I wait for the Meta Quest 3?
It might be the best decision to wait for the Meta Quest 3 due to the innumerable cost of the Meta Quest Pro. Zuckerberg has stated the Meta Quest 3 will be much more affordable – somewhere between $300-500.
