Warzone 2 is finally here with the new Al Mazrah map going down a storm with gamers. However, there’s one question that COD fans want to know – is Rebirth Island coming to Warzone 2?
In a shock move, Activision revealed in their blog that Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep maps will not be present when Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera when it launched. So what does that mean for Warzone 2? Here’s everything you need to know.
When is Rebirth Island coming to Warzone 2?
There is no Rebirth Island in Warzone 2 currently. In short, it’s unlikely that Warzone 2 will be seeing Rebirth Island any time soon – but don’t rule it off completely.
Rebirth was a key feature of the first Warzone, now called Warzone Caldera, and went down a storm with fans who preferred smaller, higher intensity firefights.
Activision confirmed on their blog: “For those fans of small Battle Royale maps, expect exciting developments in Warzone 2.0 during future seasons.”
While this doesn’t confirm the mod is coming, it does give us hope that a Rebirth-style gameplay mode has not been axed completely – and is in fact in the works. If we were to predict, Rebirth Island could well appear sometime next year as part of a seasonal expansion, but this is speculation for now.
In the meantime, there are a number of new modes for gamers to enjoy, including the brilliant DMZ mode. Gamers are currently braving the dangerous streets of Al Mazrah in search of the coveted M13b assaults rifle – which you can find out how to acquire right here.
