Sony’s other platforms, the PSP and PS2, sold 100,100 and 41,600 units respectively.
Software sales were dominated by Nintendo once again, with New Super Mario Bros. Wii showing great legs with an additional 656,700 units sold. Then came BioWare’s universally acclaimed Mass Effect 2 which shifted 572,100 units on Xbox 360 in under a week.
Wii Fit Plus sold 555,7000 units, Modern Warfare 2 added 326,700 (Xbox 360) and 259,000 (PS3) to its bulging total and Mario Kart Wii managed 310,900 units.
Other new entries included Army of Two: The 40th Day on Xbox 360 with 246,500 units and Darksiders on Xbox 360 which notched up a respectable 171,200 units. Ubisoft’s Just Dance also proved that its popularity spreads beyond the UK, selling 191,900 units.
There’s no place in the Top 10 for PS3 exclusive MAG or sexy SEGA action title Bayonetta.
