A second 13-episode season of hit detective drama Jessica Jones has been confirmed by Netflix, though exactly when it’ll premiere hasn’t been announced.

Star Krysten Ritter will return as the super-powered sleuth with a troubled history.

A little more info on the show’s return was revealed after Netflix’s presentation at the Television Critics Association press tour last night.

Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg told reporters: “I think I just want to continue with her character. She’s a very damaged character and her damage goes beyond Kilgrave [David Tennant]. There’s a lot to mine from in her backstory and in her present day situation. I think we’ll find something.”

“I will always use as much as I possibly can from the comic book,” Rosenberg added.

“The Marvel Cinematic Universe is very different in terms of its mythology. In the books, everyone knows superheroes are walking around, there’s a lot of things building toward Secret Wars. We’re probably not going to be able to do a totally parallel storylines. But I take every little piece I can because it’s so good.”

The next time we see new content from the Marvel and Netflix partnership will be Daredevil season 2, premiering on the streaming service on March 18.
