Considered by many to be the greatest electric guitar player of all time, Jimi Hendrix is coming to Rock Band in a big way. The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s classic album, Axis: Bold As Love, along with the new single, “Valleys of Neptune” from the just-released album of the same name, will be added to the Rock Band Music Store next week. I can’t help but think of how hard some of these songs will be to play on Expert. Time to get practicing! Of course, all the tracks are the original master recordings. Titles marked with a “+” will also be playable in Lego Rock Band.
With Hendrix’s music now exclusive to Rock Band, one has to applaud Harmonix and MTV Games for continuing to expand the core Rock Band experience, rather than release endless iterations of the game. Will you be adding some Hendrix to your Rock Band setlist?
The Axis: Bold As Love Album Pack, as well as the individual Hendrix tracks, will be available on Xbox 360 (March 30th) and PlayStation 3 (April 1st). Only individual tracks will be available on Wii (March 30th).
