Even if you’ve defeated Journey to the Savage Planet‘s bosses, you still need to figure out how to get off the darned planet. This guide tells you the locations of Javelin Fuel Sources so you can complete this side objective.

Note 1: Some locations may be unreachable unless you have fully upgraded your gadgets (ie. Quadruple Thrusters). If you need help with upgrades, we’ve got you covered with our Science Experiments and Explorer Rank mini-guide.

Note 2: You only need five Javelin Fuel Sources to finish this objective. However, there are actually 10 of these hidden throughout Journey to the Savage Planet.

Journey to the Savage Planet: Javelin Fuel Sources guide

(1) Landing Site – Towering Crystals

This ought to be the first one that you’ll spot. Once you obtain your grappler, make your way to the top of the cliffside area by using the nodes close to the fast travel point.

The first Javelin Fuel Source can be found inside a small nook next to the cliff wall.

(2) Landing Site – Cliffs of Mt. Gzarfyn

This Javelin Fuel Source is actually located in the Towering Crystals area, but it’s easier to get here via the Cliffs of Mt. Gzarfyn. Be forewarned that this one can be quite challenging, so make sure you’ve got full health.

From the fast travel point, make your way south until you reach the cliff’s edge with the waterfall.

Jump down and you’ll find the entrance to a secret cave. Use your Shock Fruit to keep the door open.

There are several moving floor panels here, so you need to time your charged jumps correctly. Oh, and there are also lasers which will greatly damage you if you’re not careful.

The Javelin Fuel Source is at the top of this secret room.

(3) The Itching Fields – Planetary Flotsam

You should be able to spot the “brain stem-looking” node to your left after you’ve fast traveled to the location.

Use your grapple gloves to skate and you’ll find what you need inside the small cavern.

(4) The Itching Fields – Festering Chasm

After you’ve fast traveled, look behind you to spot a wall tablet indicating that you need the thruster upgrades to make your way up.

Once you’ve done that, throw a Bombegranate at the breakable wall to find the Javelin Fuel Source.

(5) The Itching Fields – Festering Chasm

Make your way past this area until the Floopsnoots start spawning. You’ll notice a giant mushroom near a grapple node.

Just behind the mushroom is a small opening that hides a Javelin Fuel Source.

(6) The Itching Fields – Fungi of Si’ned VII

From the fast travel point, head east until you spot a gnarled tree.

Make your way there and you’ll spot a breakable floor panel.

Grab your reward below.

(7) The Elevated Realm – Pillars of Xzorgana

The goal here is to make it to the floating platform (where all the water’s coming from) that’s just above the fast travel point. There’s a rock formation that you can climb.

Use your quad jumps and charged jumps to get to the top of the rock formation and hop across to the floating platform.

Your objective is in the middle of the pool of water.

(8) The Elevated Realm – Pillars of Xzorgana

You’re still in the same area, so just look around and you’ll spot a couple of pillars at the edge of a cliff.

Head over there and you’ll see a floating platform in the distance. You’ll need the Quadruple Thrusters (quad jump) to make it across.

You’ll spot a breakable floor panel so just use your stomp boots. The Javelin Fuel Source is right below.

(9) The Elevated Realm – Pillars of Xzorgana

From your current spot, take a look at the area you jumped off from. You’ll notice a small cavern below.

Make it all the way there and you’ll spot some barnacles for your Grapple Seed.

Once you reach the end, you’ll spot a Javelin Fuel Source and an Alien Alloy. Oh, there are lots of Schnozos here too, so make it quick.

(10) The Elevated Realm – The Crackling Pedestal

From the fast travel point, you’ll spot a lone floating platform that has an alien doorway. You’ll need the Quadruple Thrusters to make it across.

Once you get close to the platform, use a Shock Fruit to prevent the doorway from closing.

If you have at least five Javelin Fuel Sources, head back to your ship. Walk to the command center to relaunch the Javelin. Oh, and if you haven’t beaten the final boss yet, you can also get the secret (joke) ending.
