Judgment has surpassed Sega’s sales expectations in the West, and resultantly, producer Daisuke Sato has teased a possible sequel in a chat with MeriStation.

Not only did the Yakuza spin off receive commercial success, but it went down a treat with newcomers and those familiar to the Japanese mafia action-adventure game. The fluid combat, engaging and gripping story supported with choice side missions, and the uniquely interesting protagonist were emphasised as its stand-out qualities. ‘From our point of view, Judgment’s performance in the West has surpassed our expectations, they’re very good,’ Sato said.

Sega is reaping what it has sown, and already is busy as a bee with new content. A Yakuza press conference for the next game starring Ichiban Kasuga is scheduled for Thursday, and the Yakuza Remastered Collection was announced last week. When asked whether a Judgment sequel was counted among these projects, Sato hinted, ‘Us, as a team, would like to keep working in more games in the Judgment series.’

So, everyone cross your fingers and hold your thumbs for a Judgment sequel; it would make Colm so happy. Watch his review below.
