On the 4th of December, the biggest names in streaming all got together for the annual Streamy Awards. This was the first time the awards had gone back to being in person after having a couple years of being done virtually due to Covid-19.

Relative newcomers to streaming Kai Cenat and IShowSpeed both did incredibly well, picking up major awards at the Streamys, despite some of the more established names that were on show. Here are all the people who picked up major awards:

Youtube Streamys 2022: Kai Cenat Wins Streamer of the Year

It has been a big few months for 20 year old Kai Cenat, first he became the most popular creator on Twitch with 3.2 million followers and now he has been recognised more formally at the Streamys too.

Kai beat more established names like Valkyrae and Pokimane to win the biggest award of the night. During his acceptance speech he went on to thank his friends and family, as well as describing the occasion as being “like the Grammy’s”.

Youtube Streamys 2022: IShowSpeed Wins Breakout Streamer

Despite Kai Cenat also being nominated for this category, IShowSpeed, 17, was the eventual winner after he has seen huge growth this year. The young streamer is well known for streaming FIFA, Fortnite and more recently hosting watch parties for the World Cup.

What helped him to grow in popularity was his take on Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous celebration.

Youtube Streamys 2022: MrBeast Wins Big

There weren’t too many people winning multiple awards, but MrBeast was one of the few who picked up multiple awards. He won three awards in total including the Creator for Social Good Award alongside Mark Rober, who also picked up multiple awards.

The other creators who did well at the awards were Markiplier, Cooking With Lynja and the aforementioned Mark Rober.
