IO Interactive’s ad machine keeps on chugging along to promote the hardcore criminal shooter sequel Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. I have to say, I’ve been impressed with all the footage that’s been released so far, and this new trailer is no exception.

This new trailer focuses a bit more on our two protagonists and reflects a lot of the game’s modus operandi, which is fast paced action and a lot of cursing. So don’t watch this somewhere where you can get fired for naughty language, and no kids, cause that would just be awful.

The trailer has no cohesive story to tell, per say, but rather displays short clips of the kind of action you can expect to see in the game as, over the course of forty-eight long hours in Shanghai, Kane and Lynch fight for their lives after a deal gets botched and the underworld isn’t too pleased with them. If it were anyone else in that situation, they would have more problems, but given the duo’s penchant for being crazy and desperate (the worst combination), I’m sure they’ll have no trouble getting out of another mess.

I think one of my favorite parts about the game has to be the costume design for the characters. Kane’s outfits, especially, with his wacky ties and shirts. It’s so tacky and identifiable that it adds a certain flair to the characters that they would be lacking had they been wearing “normal” outfits.

Anyhow, we won’t have long to wait to play the game, as it’s hitting in just a couple of weeks. Are you guys looking forward to Kane & Lynch 2? What did you think of the first game?

Kane & Lynch 2 starts its Dog Days on August 17, 2010 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
