Sega has polished off the first footage of Yakuza 3 running on PlayStation 4, and it spends a lot of time showing hero Kazuma Kiryu battering goons with a bike and other objects while finding the time to woo some scantily-clad women.

The game will be hitting Sony’s flagship console later this summer in Japan (presumably we’ll also see it in the west at some point), and has been buffed with 1080p resolution and a silky-smooth frame rate.

Other than that it’s pretty much the same Yakuza 3 you remember from back in 2010, which is certainly no bad thing. The game still holds up pretty well even without the visual makeover.

Yakuza 4 and 5 will be hitting the PS4 in autumn 2018 and spring 2019, respectively. There’s still no word on a US or UK release yet, but we can’t imagine why Sega wouldn’t be up for it.

In the meantime, it’s probably worth checking out the excellent Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, and keep an eye out for Yakuza Kiwami 2 this summer.
