The official Call of Duty Twitter account broke the news that killstreaks are back in the multiplayer mode of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

That’s all the information we have on killstreaks so far, but tuning in to the Twitch stream on Thursday will likely give us an insight to how these features will all come together. Infinity Ward isn’t only looking to the past for its modern Modern Warfare, and innovated a new multiplayer mode, Gunfight. In addition, the maps for the mode won’t be standard fare and will incite high-intensity close encounters in the 2v2 battle.

Along with this bombshell, the tweet is accompanied by images that may offer a glimpse into the full multiplayer reveal scheduled for August 1. There’s the Juggernaut suit which is a set of heavy-duty gear that’s featured in previous games in the series. The Infantry Assault Vehicle is a light tank, if something can be considered ‘light’ with a .50 cal machine gun on the top of it. Finally, White Phosphorus will ‘disorient the enemy’ with white smoke flares blanketing the map as an offensive or defensive strategy.

Own the opposition – reap the rewards.
