Square Enix has confirmed that the epilogue for Kingdom Hearts 3 will be added the day after launch in a post-release patch.

The move comes as part of the publisher’s plans to keep spoilers to a minimum, because things have a nasty habit of leaking onto the Internet nowadays. In addition to the epilogue, a ‘secret move’ will arrive on January 31, two days after release, which will ’enhance player’s enjoyment of the world of Kingdom Hearts.’

It’s a smart move to be fair, even though it might seem odd that the game’s epilogue won’t actually be there on release. Then again, Kingdom Hearts 3 is a pretty big game by all accounts, so you’d have to pull some crazy moves to finish it all one day one. If you do, then more power to you.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is due out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29, and there will be a day one update to grab that includes a Memory Archive option.

The Disney-RPG has been a long time coming. Kingdom Hearts 2 arrived in 2006, and the sequel was announced back in 2013 during Sony’s E3 press event. One of the main reasons for taking so long is due to the change in game engine, according to the game’s co-director.
