Kingdom Hearts III is getting new DLC and we finally have a name: ReMIND.

Kingdom Hearts fans are unlike any other. Despite the fact the game’s story is so opaque as to be basically incomprehensible, they still clamor for every bit of lore they can get their cartoonishly large paws on.

Because it’s a game that takes place in cartoon worlds. Get it? I’ll be here all week.

Anyway, the game is a huge critical success and, more importantly, a huge commercial success, so Square Enix is bringing everyone what they want: more Kingdom Hearts III. Specifically in the form of a paid DLC that we knew as early as February was definitely in development, but now we finally have a name.

The new DLC will be called “ReMIND”.

This information comes to us from a quite unlikely source. Kingdom Hearts III game director Tetsuya Nomura was attending the first concert of the World of Tres Orchestra tour in Tokyo last week (which features various orchestral music from popular games including the Kingdom Hearts franchise) when he made a surprise appearance during the concert and spilled the beans.

According to Twitter user @YanlinGaming, who was in the audience at the time, at one point Nomura just got up on stage and announced Kingdom Hearts III’s upcoming DLC details.

Besides the name we also got a few details. There will be two episodes, one called Limit, the other called Secret, and both will feature boss fights. It will be a paid DLC, but there will be some free content distributed when ReMIND is released including a new Keyblade and a new Form.

We know from a previous report from Gematsu that Xion will also appear in the DLC. In case you need a reminder, Xion is the clone of Roxas (who is himself Sora’s Nobody) made from Sora’s memories. She appears most often as Kairi, however, she can appear different depending on the person looking at her. Which is a great way to summarize the confusing nature of the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Details like a release date haven’t been announced, nor do we know where the DLC will take us in the Disney universe. Zootopia, Moana, and Finding Nemo are still huge Disney movies that haven’t been further immortalized in Kingdom Hearts and thus seem the prime suspects.
