The last, brand-new Saints Row title came in the form of the bizarre Saints Row IV. Saints Row: The Third had received a Switch port in May of this year, though not much information has been divulged about a new Saints Row title. However, according to Koch Media, we’ll very likely get some discussion on it next year.

According to VG247, Koch Media’s CEO, Klemens Kundratitz, told GamesIndustry.biz that fans will hear about the game next year.

Kundratitz had explained that Saints Row is a franchise close to the hearts of those at Koch Media and their parent company, THQ Nordic. He added that “we’ll talk about it next year.”

“For the time being, we just wanted to get the word out that it’s coming and it’s going to be great," Kundratitz stated, adding that Saints Row developer Volition would remain focused on the next Saints Row game and not be distracted by other projects.

Of course, it’s now simply a matter of getting further information on the upcoming Saints Row title. After all, Volition had announced that there was a new Saints Row game in development after reports indicated as such.

Additionally, there is a known Saints Row movie in production, which will hopefully buck the occasionally-trumped trend of bad video game movies. Detective Pikachu successfully escaped the reputation that movie adaptations of video games have, so hopefully, the Saints Row film will be another exception to the rule.

As for the to-be-discussed Saints Row title, many Saints Row fans are likely to be enthused about this. Not only was Saints Row IV a mixed bag in terms of gameplay mechanic,s but it was also released six years ago. As such, many fans likely have a real hankering for the next iteration in the series.

There are many things that could stand to be included in the next Saints Row game, This would include things like buildings that can be entered, more customization, and a less zany story than Saints Row: The Third and, above all, Saints Row IV. Come next year, we might just know whether these things are implemented.
