A new rumour doing the rounds claims Kojima Productions’ next project is a horror title by the name of Overdose.
The report comes from notorious leaker Tom Henderson posted on Try Hard Guides. According to Henderson, an anonymous source sent him some early footage from the game of a woman in a blue dress walking around dark corridors with a flashlight. Perhaps most intriguingly, this woman is said to have the face of Margaret Qualley, who played Mama in Death Stranding. The demo then apparently ends with a jump scare, and the GAME OVER text morphs into the title OVERDOSE.
Kojima Productions may have even poured some extra hot sauce on this rumour themselves. According to Henderson, he claims that the studio has asked the publication to remove the report – to which he declined. Of course, while there’s no public confirmation from the studio itself – we do have to take the info with a pinch of salt.
It’ll certainly be an interesting development though. Just a few weeks back Norman ‘Sam Porter-Bridges’ Reedus seemingly confirmed that Death Stranding 2 was in production. There’s nothing stopping the studio from working on two games at once, of course. Or perhaps Qualley is just a placeholder?
For now, we’ll have to wait and see how this story develops to find out. Kojima is best mates with Geoff Keighley, and he’s got a little Summer Game Fest show this weekend. Could we see the debut of Kojima Productions’ Overdose there? We’ll update you if we find out.
