Konami has followed yesterday’s Celtic announcement with news that it’s signed up bitter rivals Rangers FC for PES 2019.

As with Celtic, the Glasgow-based football club forms part of Konami having secured the rights to the Scottish Premiership, and will  bring Rangers’ stars and Ibrox Stadium to PES 2019 via downloadable content.

Colm reliably informs me that Rangers are giants of Scottish footie, although says they’ve had a bit of a rough patch recently.

Having said that, a bit of digging confirms they’ve actually won more league titles and trebles (whatever that means) than any other club in the world. In total, they’ve notched up 54 league victories, 33 Scottish Cup wins, and won the Scottish League Cup 27 times.

And there was me thinking Manchester United won everything to do with football.

Much like with Celtic, Rangers’ inclusion in PES 2019 will feature a Limited Edition version of the game, which comes with a special Rangers packaging for die-hard fans.

‘We are delighted to have entered in to this new partnership with KONAMI and are excited to see the club and the players perfectly represented within PES 2019,’ commented Stewart Robertson, Managing Director of Rangers FC.

‘With this partnership with Rangers we add another massive club to the growing PES roster,’ beamed Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.’s Senior Director Brand & Business Development. ‘Scottish football enjoys some of the loudest and most ardent fans of any league, and we look forward to this passion manifesting as Rangers makes its debut in PES 2019.’

PES 2019 will be kicking off on August 28 in the US and August 30 in Europe for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
