God of War’s Photo Mode is now available to download in a new title update, meaning Kratos finally has an opportunity to exercise his facial muscles and crack an actual smile in some awkward-looking selfies.
The feature can be accessed via the options menu, and is pretty simple to utilise; just fiddle with the thumb sticks to move around a scene and then use the R2 and L2 to pan up and down, with Square resetting the position of the camera.
In addition to mucking about with Kratos and Atreus’ facial expressions, you can also enjoy a range of customisation options, such as camera, filter, borders, aperture, and characters. Anyone who has used a Photo Mode in one of Sony’s previous games should feel right at home, although it’s a bonus that God of War is probably the best-looking game to date to employ the feature.
Elsewhere, developer Sony Santa Monica Studio also confirmed that it has increased the size of God of War’s text across all menus and interface, while a new accessibility setting allows you to remap Rage Mode.
God of War hit PS4 on April 20 and effortlessly bagged the series’ best launch week sales to date, while becoming 2018’s second-biggest release behind only Far Cry 5. Did you spot the game’s Avengers Infinity War Easter egg?
