NIIS America has just released an exciting new trailer for Langrisser I & II. The video was posted to the company’s YouTube channel and introduces the brand new story for Langrisser II.
In addition to the exclusive footage shown in the trailer, NIIS America has also dropped official details on its website regarding the epic storyline for the games as well. The story will take place over the course of two tactical strategy RPG’s.
Langrisser I takes place many years after a terrible war over the legendary Langrissser sword, which was said to grant its wielder ultimate and unlimited power. A war broke out between those who were trying to protect the sword and its power and those who were trying to steal it for themselves. The royal family of Baldea was one of the prominent families who swore to protect it, and it was thanks to their efforts that the sword remained safe for so long. However, Langrissser I picks up as the invasion of Kaiser Digos and the Dalsis Empire calls the Baldea family to action once again. Kaiser Digos successfully kills the king of Baldea, it’s up to Prince Ledin to avenge his father and reclaim Langrisser and honor his ancestors who had protected the sacred sword for so long.
Langrisser II takes place centuries after The War of the Sacred Sword, but violence and turmoil plague the continent of El Sallia. The Kingdom of Baldea and Langrisser have faded into nothing more than myths and fairytales. The story focuses on a young traveler named Elwin as he journeys through the land with amateur mage Hein. The two soon find themselves mixed up in a mystery surrounding a missing young girl named Liana, and Elwin and his friend go forth to rescue her and uncover the reasons behind her disappearance.
A remake of a 1990’s classic, Langrisser I & II features all the things that made the original Langrisser series so beloved, along with high-definition visuals, a gorgeous reorchestrated new score, and more quality-of-life improvements.
Langrisser I & II will be released for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on March 17 in North America, March 20 in Europe, and March 27 in Oceania.
