It was founded in 2001 as  Kryptiq Corporation and specialized in electronic medical records and secure communications between clinicians and patients. Surescripts, a previous investor in the company, purchased the 125-employee company in 2012.

Annual revenues were roughly $25 million at the time of the sale. In January 2015, the company announced its separation from Surescripts and its return to independence. Later that year, it was called Enli Health Intelligence. Cedar Gate Technologies acquired it in 2021, dropping the Enli brand.

During its operations, the company licenses several health-related software for health insurers and healthcare providers, such as Patient Portal, ePrescribing, CareManager, and Secure Messaging. The Secure Messaging service was the backbone of Surescripts’ network, allowing doctors to transmit patient records and information electronically. Kryptiq’s Patient Portal enabled clinicians to receive payments from patients via the internet, resulting in nearly $10 million in revenue in 2011.
