When you think of Robin Hood, you probably think of bows and arrows. Maybe caps with feathers in them or men in tights. But Hood: Outlaws and Legends is going for a much darker, grittier telling of the story surrounding Robin of Locksley. The game, being developed by Sumo Digital and Focus Home Interactive, will still have players stealing from the rich to give to the poor. There’s just a lot more bloodshed and probably less witty quips. Especially from the latest character in Hood: Outlaws and Legends to be revealed, the Mystic.
An ex-inquisitor, the Mystic is your support class in Hood: Outlaws and Legends. Don’t get it wrong though, he’s still got plenty of offensive capabilities. This tatted-up character wields a flail with an extremely long chain. Thanks to that chain, it has a pretty far and wide reach, meaning any enemy in front of you is in trouble. The downside is just how slow the Mystic attacks. Even his light attacks take a while to come out, while his heavy attack, which hurls the flail at an enemy, takes longer. However, that heavy attack can stun enemies, leaving them open to finishing blows. The Mystic also has a special trait that lets him quickly regain stamina, which is huge considering Hood: Outlaws and Legends runs on a stamina-based attacking and blocking system.
Heals for everyone
The Mystic’s ultimate ability is the first glimpse at his support capabilities. Called instinct, this ability does two things. First, it outlines any enemies in the area for a short period of time. Secondly, any teammates around the Mystic when he uses this ability will be healed.
There are also a number of perks that can be tooled for even more healing potential. For instance, the Mystic can throw poison at enemies to drain their stamina and obscure their vision. Well, with a simple perk swap, the poison becomes a healing grenade, restoring HP to any ally you throw it at.
