Steam and Capcom have released some new footage of Devil May Cry 5 running on the upcoming Steam Deck handheld.
The footage has apparently been provided by the game’s lead designer Yoichiro Ikeda. It’s an excellent showcase of the technical capabilities of Valve’s portable machine, with the game’s RE Engine looking no less fabulous on the smaller screen of the device.
Of course, the reason for this footage is to build more hype for the Steam Deck. Though the first batch of devices has been delayed by two months, the machine has been in high demand since its reveal this past summer. It’s available in three storage-sized flavours, uses speedy NVMe SSD storage and an “optically bonded” LCD screen.
The game they’re showing it off with is certainly no slouch either. We enjoyed our time with 2019’s Devil May Cry 5 as evidenced by our 9-scoring review. “Devil May Cry 5 revels in its own gleeful stupidity, presenting a world in which the most valuable commodity is style,” Josh concluded.
