Language learning company Rosetta Stone has launched a new Xbox One app designed to teach console users how to speak English and Spanish.

The ‘Rosetta Stone Discover Languages’ app promises to teach English and Spanish “by way of immersive simulation”, taking players to a variety of locations where they’re able to chat to characters, unlock achievements and perfect their score.

“Playing video games is great cognitive exercise; it helps improve your focus, memory, and ability to multitask,” Rosetta Stone wrote on its website. “And now with Rosetta Stone’s Discover Languages Xbox launch, you can also use a video game to learn a new language.

“Rosetta Stone’s new application teaches English and Spanish by way of immersive simulation. Virtual travel experiences teach you the vocabulary and grammar necessary for real-world interactions. So before you book a flight to a foreign destination, grab your controller.”

The app is available to download now for free from the Xbox App Store.
