Thunderful Publishing and Clockstone have unveiled Lego Bricktales, a new puzzle-adventure game featuring the eponymous toy bricks.

The setup has your grandfather’s amusement park threatened with closure, and the only way to repair it is with a mysterious alien device. This device uses happiness crystals, obtained by making people happy and solving their problems. Naturally, this means you and your robot buddy step through a portal to explore different locations around the world.

That backstory justifies why you’ll find yourself in a series of Lego-dioramas featuring a variety of biomes. Each of these locations will feature a number of minfigs that need your help. It’ll be up to you to use the bricks provided to build unique creations brick by brick to help them out. Your creations will then be brought to life in the world, providing they meet the criteria.

Along the way, you’ll unlock new skills and new dioramas, such as a jungle, a city corner, a medieval castle and many more. There’ll also be plenty of secrets in these worlds for you to discover too. The game uses an isometric viewpoint similar to Lego Builder’s Journey which arrived on Xbox late last year. However, this game is being developed by Clockstone, who were responsible for the Bridge Constructor series of games including the Portal and The Walking Dead spin-offs.

The team promises a charming story, plenty of Lego fun and even a Sandbox mode too. You can check out the trailer below. Currently, Thunderful has only confirmed a PC version of the game so far. But hopefully we’ll hear more when Lego Bricktales releases later in 2022.
