Marvel’s Avengers may have six playable characters upon release, but the game will have post-launch content and DLC – and LEGO may have just leaked what that DLC could end up being.

Square Enix’s Marvel’s Avengers will have players taking on the roles of six Marvel superheroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, and Ms. Marvel. Past that, it has been confirmed that there will be more playable superheroes after the game’s release at no extra cost. Further, two new LEGO sets found on the company’s website provide some insight into who those heroes are.

First, the LEGO Marvel Avengers Speeder Bike Attack contains the LEGO figurines of Thor, an AIM agent, as well as Black Panther and his speeder bike. If this is linked to the Marvel’s Avengers game,  then it is likely that Black Panther may become a playable hero at some point.

Meanwhile, the Marvel Avengers Truck Take-down LEGO set contains LEGO figurines of two AIM agents, as well as Captain America and Hawkeye. As with the Speeder Bike Attack LEGO set, if this is linked to the video game, then Clint Barton is likely to at least make an appearance in Marvel’s Avengers. Moreover, given the confirmation of DLC heroes, Hawkeye and Black Panther could very well be among them.

As it stands, the game is apparently at least 30 hours long. This would mean that there is more than enough time to spend with the six base playable heroes. Whether DLC characters get factored into this is uncertain. However, adding characters like Black Panther and Hawkeye would surely mix up the action and add more diversity to the gameplay.

This is especially true given the description of the Speeder Bike Attack LEGO set, which indicates that the bike belongs to Black Panther. If Black Panther were to become a playable DLC character, then this might mean that Marvel’s Avengers players would get to experience some sort of vehicle combat. Meanwhile, playing as Hawkeye in the game may point to a less hands-on approach and call for more ranged combat. In both cases, nothing has been confirmed by Square Enix or Marvel just yet, so these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
