It looks like we’ll be getting an update on Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga later this week during Gamescom.

Host Geoff Keighley revealed the game will be part of the special Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast this Wednesday evening. It’ll be the first we’ve heard from the game in some time, since it was delayed out of Spring 2021 to an undermined time back in April.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is being positioned as the most comprehensive Lego Star Wars game yet. It’ll cover all nine main films in the series, as well as TV spin-offs The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch. There’s hundreds of playable heroes and villains promised, including Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Finn, BB-8, Darth Vader and many more. We’ll also get to see many classic Star Wars movie scenes given a comedic Lego twist.

The game was first teased all the way back in 2019, around the time of that year’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker movie. Prior to that, the most recent game in the series was 2016’s Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Gamescom show is already shaping up pretty well, with a Saints Row reboot also teased for the event just last week. Lovely stuff.

Hopefully we’ll hear a new release date for Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga during the presentation. We don’t have long to find out, Gamescom Opening Night Live will kick off at 7pm UK time on Wednesday, August 25. The game itself is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Wednesday! Don’t miss a world premiere new look at LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (@LSWGame)@gamescom Opening Night Live, streaming at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET / 7 pm BST / 8 pm CEST.
