Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 Overview

Lenovo has recently updated its IdeaPad 5 series with the IdeaPad 5 Pro, which offers a much better configuration than the previous model. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 is an outstanding mid-range laptop that provides a lot of power for the price.

The device is powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS processor and an AMD Radeon 660M graphics card. The laptop has a 512GB NVMe SSD that offers fast data transfer speeds.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro’s most notable feature is its striking design. The laptop features the same carbon fiber texture found on premium laptops like the Razer Blade and Dell XPS. Its stunning look matches the laptop’s thin bezels and premium hardware.

The laptop also has a surprisingly powerful display. The computer features a 2560 x 1600p full HD display and offers excellent brightness and color quality. This helps ensure you can comfortably use the laptop outdoors or in bright environments without sacrificing color accuracy or brightness levels.

Design

Lenovo has been using its metal chassis design for years, and it still looks good on this notebook. The aluminum lid makes this laptop feel sturdy and durable. The deck features a woven pattern that looks like carbon fiber but is plastic. The plastic texture gives the laptop a premium look and helps keep the weight down to 4.2 pounds.

The 16-inch Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 has an aluminum silver lid with a brushed finish that gives it an upscale look and feel. The bezels around the display are thin, giving the laptop a premium feel.

There’s also plenty of room for ports on both sides of the machine — two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and an SD card reader are on one side. At the same time, there’s a USB 3.0 Type-C port, an HDMI port, and an audio jack on the other side of the laptop.

The laptop has one big hinge in the middle; this allows for more flexibility when opening or closing the lid so that there’s less strain placed on the computer.

Features

Interface

The touchpad is the same as before and works well. It has a smooth surface with just the right amount of friction. The left and right click buttons have been redesigned and have a nice tactile feel.

The keyboard on the IdeaPad 5 Pro is excellent: full-sized keys with plenty of travel make typing comfortable, even if you’re writing long documents or emails that require lots of input.

Connectivity

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro comes with a lot of connectivity options. For starters, you have an HDMI 2.0b, one USB-C port, and an audio jack on the left side. The laptop’s right side has two USB 3.0 ports and an SD card reader. The computer also has 802.11ac Wi-Fi support for wireless connectivity.

Webcam

The webcam is located on the top center of the screen and offers 720p resolution. The picture quality is decent, but it could be better. The colors are not very realistic and seem washed out a little bit. However, it gets the job done for video chatting and Zooming with coworkers or family members.

Display

The display on the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 is a 16-inch Full HD IPS panel with a matte finish and a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The screen gets sufficiently bright and has good viewing angles as well. There are no issues with the display, but there are also several things that Lenovo could have added to improve it.

The IdeaPad 5 Pro is equipped with an AMD Radeon 660M graphics card that should be more than enough for casual gaming.

Processor

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro has an AMD Ryzen 5 6600HS processor running at 4.5 GHz base speed. This is an excellent CPU for daily use –– it will handle most things you throw at it quickly, including heavy multitasking and light gaming.

Storage

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 has a 512GB SSD, which is more than enough space for your files. You can always use the USB port to expand the storage if you need more space or replace the HDD completely.

Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 Review

Lenovo’s IdeaPad 5 Pro is a solid laptop built well and has plenty of power to keep up with most tasks. It will not blow anyone away, but it’s an impressive piece of hardware for the price.

The most prominent feature of the IdeaPad 5 Pro is its display. At 16 inches, it’s large enough to simplify multitasking but not so big that it feels like a large monitor screen. The 2560p resolution is sharp and crisp, and the colors look vibrant. The screen does an excellent job of keeping reflections at bay even in the light, and the brightness settings all work well together to ensure you don’t have trouble seeing things onscreen.

The keyboard on this device feels comfortable when typing on it; there are no annoying gaps between keys or any other issues that would make typing uncomfortable. The keys are well-spaced apart from one another, so there’s plenty of room for your fingers to rest comfortably while typing on them. The trackpad is also lovely; it tracks smoothly across the entire surface area without skipping issues.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ARH7 has the same design as other premium laptops, like the MacBook Pro and Dell XPS. It has a thin bezel around the display, which makes it look and feel more like a high-end laptop.

The speakers are also surprisingly good, as they’re loud enough to fill a room with sound quickly. They will not replace your home theater setup, but they’ll do enough to keep you entertained without headphones. The battery life is average; however, you’ll get about 10 hours of use on a charge with this laptop, which is still a good amount, especially for this price point.
