The original Life is Strange may be a couple of years old now, but interestingly despite the series’ huge popularity and a prequel trilogy already here, it’s never appeared on mobile devices, until now.

Square Enix has today announced that Life is Strange will finally be portable as it releases on iPhone and iPad from Thursday December 14. The port’s being handled by Black Wing Foundation and will feature full touch controls thanks to an ‘enhanced user interface’ alongside social media features including, quite aptly, an all new photo mode.

No word if it’ll make its way to Android or elsewhere yet (it’ll be pretty awesome to have it on the Switch, surely?) but the game’s story heavy, action-light mechanics certainly make it an excellent fit for a mobile title. Although probably best you don’t play some of it in too obvious a place if you don’t like getting emotional in public.

Episodes 1 -3 will release this Thursday, December 14 with episodes 4 and 5 to follow in the new year. Here’s the trailer:
