The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is the fastest-selling Switch game of 2019 in Europe, as announced by Nintendo of Europe in a celebratory tweet (via Video Games Chronicle).

Link’s Awakening was designed by the independent developer Grezzo, who cut its teeth the 3D reboots of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask for the Nintendo 3DS. The charming and cutesy remake released in tandem with the Switch Lite and it was very well received, critically and fiscally. It hit No.1 in UK physical game sales only a few days after its launch, and so it’s Nintendo’s third No.1 in the UK charts.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is out now for the Nintendo Switch. Watch the accolades trailer below.

Nintendo of Europe hasn’t backed up the ‘fastest-selling’ claim with cold, hard numbers, but if that’s the case, the game would have outstripped compadres including Super Mario Maker 2, Astral Chain, Dragon Quest Builders, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. But, Luigi’s Mansion 3 will drop in on October 31 and Pokémon Sword and Shield will launch on November 15, which may shake Link’s Awakening from its throne.

Here’s what the critics are saying about Europe’s fastest-selling #NintendoSwitch game of 2019, The Legend of #Zelda: Link’s Awakening!
