If you’re freezing your ass off and need a bit of warmth for the winter season, why not try out Little Inferno. Originally launched in 2021, this satirical indie title is all about throwing things into a fire and consuming more garbage so you can feel just a bit better. It’s a biting critique of our consumerist age that seems to have been lost on a lot of people.

Even if you disregard all of that philosophical thinking, Little Inferno is still a neat game. Continuing with its free game giveaways for the season, the title is currently available for gratis on the Epic Games Store. All you need to do is log in, click purchase, and add the game to your account.

As with previous free game giveaways from Epic, the title will be yours to keep forever. You’ll only have until tomorrow morning, December 23, at 11:00 am EST/8:00 am EST to claim it, so move fast! Move like a fire is chasing you! Move like your consumerism may burn a hole in your pocket if you don’t drop more money!

Forced attempts at humor aside, the game really is a solid little time waster. It’s got a charming art style and some surprisingly accurate fire physics. Things burn real good in Little Inferno, which is kind of the point. How good would a personal fireplace be if it was crap at torching stuff?

As for the next free game, I’m actually at a bit of a loss. The image clearly shows a gorilla, but I can’t imagine Epic is giving out Planet Zoo. There’s likely some other game with apes I’m not thinking of, though it would be pretty awesome to get a management sim for free.

What’s more curious to think about is what Epic will be doing on Christmas Day. Most people are probably not going to be home at their PCs, so I’d imagine nothing will be on offer. It would be nice to see the past few games make a return appearance for a few hours, but that sounds more confusing than it is worth.
