Little Town Hero received a new trailer that shows off a snapshot of the turn-based RPG adventure from Game Freak (via Gematsu).

And when I say a snapshot, I mean it, the trailer is only 30 seconds long. But, combined with its 43 second long Nintendo Direct announcement trailer, I am pleased to confirm that we now have one entire minute of Little Town Hero footage. Keeping true to its name, it would seem.

Town was a peaceful refuge on the edge of the world, protected by a looming castle from the dangers that stalk the lands. The villagers are kept safe and are not allowed outside of Town, which is just fine by them. That is, excluding Axe, our red-headed Hero. He wants to explore the world, but a sudden and mysterious event means that adventure has come to him. A monster appears in the sanctuary, and Axe defeats it using a strange stone he found in the coalmines.

The entire game takes place within the walls of Town, and Axe will begin to uncover the secret of its uninterrupted peace as he battles the behemoths. A brand new combat system says that the ‘key to victory is your ideas’, providing flexible and reactive mechanics and a party of allies to assist Axe. And the soundtrack has been developed by Toby Fox, the creator of Undertale, and Hitomi Sato, the composer behind the Pokémon series soundtracks.

It reminds me of Little King’s Story, which is a very good thing, because that was a very good game. Axe’s journey strikes me as an adventure rather than a real-time strategy, and it’s possible that this time the Town of the Little Hero won’t actually be a universe crammed into a tiny box.

Little Town Hero releases on October 16 for Nintendo Switch, and will be priced at $24.99 on the eShop. Watch the trailer below.
