UK developer Robust Games has unveiled their debut game in the form of point-and-click adventure Loco Motive.

The comedy murder-mystery is set on an opulent 1930s steam train known as the Reuss Express. One of the train’s passengers—Lady Unterwald—is found murdered in suspicious circumstances, and it’s down to you to find out whodunnit. You’ll actually play as three characters over the course of the game, and they’re the three main suspects. So it’s your job to also prove their innocence as well as find the guilty party.

Each character has their own unique talents, with one being a lawyer, another an amateur sleuth and the final member of the trio an undercover agent. You’ll have to use all three to solve the game’s puzzles and put together the clues found on the train. Naturally, you’ll also meet a bunch of other characters, some of them suspects and some innocent bystanders.

We’re promised a story full of twists, turns and slapstick humour. You’ll also be able to choose whether you play using direct character control or a classic point and click interface. As another nod to the 90’s classic comedy adventure inspirations, there’ll also be an in-game hint line you can call for advice if you’re stuck.
