Logitech G430 is a customizable, wired gaming headset. The headset supports the Logitech gaming software and has a low latency connection, giving it additional capabilities and customization options over ordinary wired gaming headsets. Additionally, it features a more breathable design, but its build quality is, at best, average and won’t last as long.

The quality of sound from the Logitech G430 gaming headset, which hit the market in October 2013, is above average and suitable for close listening. It’s cozy and includes a good microphone that effectively filters noise. However, these headphones don’t do very well in noisy environments, as they leak noise. This makes them unsuitable for commuting.

Features

The Logitech G430 tries to offer the best of both worlds with the noise-canceling microphone and 7.1 Dolby Surround sound. The G430 from Logitech has the same appearance and texture as most Logitech gaming headsets.

It has a wide headband and huge, somewhat square-shaped ear cups. The slightly colorful accents of topaz blue make the headphones stick out more than standard ones. The balanced audio, decent microphone, and wired connectivity of the Logitech G430 eliminate latency. This makes them perfect for gaming.

Specifications

Logitech G430 Gaming Headset Review

The Logitech G430 is one of the top-selling gaming headsets that offer value for money. It is specifically made for gamers but is also suitable for multichannel listening. You can enjoy intricate tunes and play games with surprising quality thanks to its 7.1 surround sound.

The Logitech G430 has full adjustment and a 90-degree turn on each pad for better comfort and portability. Additionally, it comes with an adjustable microphone that you can move up and down from its current location.

Design

The Logitech G430 headset design is a dark blue sports-performance material that is padded around each earpiece and at the top of the headband. This mesh material has perforations to reduce sweat during intense gaming sessions. The ear cups are large and fit well on most users’ ears.

Under the left cup of the headset is a noise-canceling microphone. There is a Logitech “G” logo on each earpiece. The cotton cushioning surrounding the earpiece is easily removable for cleaning. Although the cushioning on the headband and ear cups is thick, it doesn’t feel as good against the skin as other padding materials.

The light-blue cable for the G430 contains a switch that you can clip to your shirt to mute the mic and control the volume without pausing the game. Although responsive and simple, the control system is too limited in functionality to let the headset serve as general-purpose headphones.

Ports and Connectivity

The headset cable is non-removable but long, measuring roughly 3 meters. It has two 3.5 mm ports for the microphone and headphone connection that you can connect to the accompanying USB adapter. The USB adapter lets you listen to 7.1 surround sound with compatible devices.

  • DTS Headphone: X and Dolby 7.1 surround sound: Experience an immersive 360-degree sound field that lets you hear what you can’t seeBuilt for comfort: Lightweight design and soft sport cloth ear cups with 90-degree swivel for maximum comfort and a personalized fitFolding, noise-cancelling boom mic: Reduces background noise for clear voice pick up and rotates up and out of the wayOn-cable sound controls: Volume dial and mute switch are close at hand for quick audio adjustments

You can connect these headsets to any device with a headphone output. However, only a Windows-based computer can play 7.1 surround sound. You must download the Logitech Gaming software from the company’s website to experience surround sound.

Sound Quality

The G430 features a channel specifically for low-frequency effects and 40mm neodymium drivers. It has 32 ohms, 20-20 kHz frequency response, and 90 dB sensitivity. Few headsets in this price range provide 7.1 surround sound.

Additionally, it includes software that enables you to customize the sound for different music or game genres to your specific preferences. Although the software has few options, amateur players will love it. All audio frequencies are crystal clear, detailed, and have superb separation. And so, this headset is perfect for gaming and listening to music.

Microphone

The G430’s stretchy 4-inch microphone is built more robustly than the rest of the device and delivers respectable performance. It’s easy to position whether you want it close to the mouth or a few inches away from the face.

The mic only captures the sound of your speech when it is bent toward your mouth, regardless of the surrounding noise. One feature that stands out is when you move the microphone up, it automatically mutes. It’s also unidirectional.
