If you’re hoping to go into Halo 5: Guardians completely spoiler-free you may want to tread lightly over the next couple of weeks.

Images of the final boxed game were posted to Reddit over the weekend, appearing to show multiple sealed copies in the hands of one North American retailer over two weeks ahead of its official release.

The game isn’t due to go on sale anywhere in the world until Tuesday, October 27.

The early look at the box also confirms that the game will require up to 60GB of storage space and reveals that the story will see players “explore and conquer three new worlds as the Master Chief and Spartan Locke”.

“An unstoppable force threatens the galaxy, unless the Master Chief can be found,” reads the blurb. “An epic story and innovative new multiplayer modes mark the greatest evolution in Halo history.”

It isn’t clear from the images which retailer has received early copies of the game, although comments in the post allege that it may be US retailer Target.

The early shipment doesn’t necessarily mean that the game will be put on sale ahead of release, of course, but it does open up the door for potential spoilers from players who do somehow manage to grab the game early.

Halo 5: Guardians launches exclusively on Xbox One on October 27.
