Just Cause 4 will get its second major DLC expansion–Los Demonios–after its recently released Spring Update.
Square Enix knows exactly what players want in their Just Cause games. They want a gorgeous, eye-gougingly beautiful world to gawk at, and then they want to blow it up. With a rocket cow. Covered in more rockets. While flying Amazing Spiderman-like over a tornado of even more rocket cows thanks to your wrist-mounted grappling hook.
When Just Cause 4 released late last year, people were very much okay with the improvements to the game’s destructive capabilities but found the graphics portion to be a little lackluster. Some even thought it was a step backward in comparison to the previous game.
Since release, developers Avalanche Studios have been hard at work making Just Cause 4 the prettiest dang explosion sandbox that the world has ever seen. That continues in the recently released Spring Update, which vastly improves the game’s lighting (and you can see just how much in the screenshots below).
While making things pretty was priority number one, adding more explosions is always on the Just Cause “to do” list. Thus, the Spring Update adds “mobile chaos objects being transported by truck or Sky Crane,” which are basically just enormous bombs. What will you do with these enormous bombs? That’s up to you, but we suggest using them to launch a cow into orbit.
Enemy AI has been improved, bridges and statues are now destructible, and ammo capacity for most weapons have been increased as well.
And finally, Square reveals the second major DLC for Just Cause 4 will feature some weird neon bug-things and Rico Rodriguez with a demon-slaying crossbow. Because what else is there to do after toppling a South American regime but go kill some demons?
Los Demonios will arrive for Gold Edition and Expansion Pass Owners on June 26th, while the rest of us will have to wait until July 3rd. Pricing wasn’t announced, but we expect it to be around the $10.00 point as with the previous DLC.
