There is already one Lost Planet 2 demo on the Xbox Live Market Place, but today it’s joined by a second. This demo isn’t about fighting giant monsters like the previous one, instead it pits players against each other in one of two modes.

The first mode is Elimination, which is a free-for-all death match. You open data posts in order to gain use of your radar and you gun everything that moves to the ground using one of a small yet satisfying roster of weapons or even mechs.

The second mode is called Data Post Battle, and this mode assigns players to one of two different teams. These teams work against each other to capture and hold as many data posts as possible until either all data posts are secured or time runs out.

Sure, getting to play Lost Planet 2 is a ton of fun, but the real awesomeness behind the demo is that Capcom will donate $20,000 to charity if one-million demos are downloaded. If there are over 1.5 million downloaded than Capcom will throw in another $5,000. The project is titled “Kill Big for Charity” and will see the money donated to the organization Music for Relief, which is a non-profit organization that helps out with disaster relief and disaster risk mitigation. So even if you think Lost Planet 2 is going to suck you should download it, hell Game Rant doesn’t even care if you play it (but you are missing out if you don’t). You only have until May 5th before charity is no longer a factor in your decision to download this demo.

The Lost Planet 2 demo is now available on Xbox Live and will be abailable on the PSN tomorrow.

What are your impressions of the Lost Planet 2 demo? What do you think of the “Kill Big For Charity” event?
