There is some good multiplayer fun to be had right now in the form of Halo: Reach and Medal of Honor, but in a few more weeks the juggernaut of online experiences, Call of Duty: Black Ops, will be taking over. While we have shown you some brief bits of the multiplayer, including one of its maps, a member of the Black Ops beta has been kind enough to record his sniping expedition and share it with the masses.
Looks a lot like Modern Warfare 2, doesn’t it? Yes, this first look at the multiplayer might seem extremely familiar with a few cosmetic changes, but is that a bad thing? All of the aspects of the multiplayer we have become accustomed to, the kill streaks and the kill cam, are making their return for better or worse.
Demolition is also making its return for those who love to plant the bomb and watch as the other team hopelessly tries to defuse. While I am not really a fan of this multiplayer mode, it does make for some great kills as most players are very goal-oriented and care little about dying. Some acknowledgment should also be given to the gamer who recorded this video. He is quite the sniper earning both the spy plane and the care package kill streaks.
If there are gamers out there who haven’t been enjoying their Halo experience online or who found that Medal of Honor’s multiplayer lacked variety, Black Ops is on its way very soon. Not only does the single player look great, but also this multiplayer video makes me want to hop back on Xbox Live right now. The game has zombies, a Cold War era storyline, and a mode that only gives you one bullet. What more can you ask for?
Which mode of Call of Duty: Black Ops’ multiplayer are you most looking forward to returning to? Team Deathmatch? Demolition?
Call of Duty: Black Ops will be available November 9th on the PS3, PC, Xbox 360, and Wii.
