Ninty is revamping 2001 GameCube classic Luigi’s Mansion for the 3DS, the company announced during its latest Direct broadcast last night.

The handheld version of the ghost-busting title will feature a bunch of additional content, including prettier visuals, a new Boss Rush mode, and the ability to view a map of the mansion on the bottom screen of the 3DS.

Luigi’s Mansion was something of a departure for Nintendo at the time, who traditionally launched hardware accompanied by a new Mario game. This time however, the plucky plumber took a step back from the limelight and let his younger brother take the lead, as he set to work on giving his haunted mansion a spring clean by hoovering up its ghostly residents.

Nintendo developed a sequel to Luigi’s Mansion in 2013 for the 3DS, which we thought was a spook-tastic adventure that improved upon its predecessor in every way.

Luigi’s Mansion for 3DS has yet to attract a release date, but we’ll keep you posted.
