Mad Catz’ upcoming micro-console M.O.J.O. will cost £219.99 when it launches this December.

The Android-based console features a 1.8GHz Tegra 4 processor, 16GB storage and 2GB RAM, and is designed to let gamers “play all [their] favorite mobile games like never before”.

However, it’s significantly more expensive than its closest competition, costing more than twice the amount of Ouya and almost three times as much as GameStick.

“The M.O.J.O. Micro-Console for Android has attracted strong interest due to its high-performance hardware, open software platform and the ecosystem of accessories,” said Darren Richardson, president and chief executive officer of Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. “M.O.J.O.is the center piece of our GameSmart mobile initiative and brings core gaming experiences to the mobile platform.”

The console includes supports for 1080p visuals and 5.1 surround sound, and ships with a Bluetooth-powered wireless pad. Players will also be upgrade their storage space through the use of SDXC memory cards and access movies and photos via external hard drives.

“With M.O.J.O.’s truly open platform, you can pick and choose where you want to buy your treasured games and movies,” adds Mad Catz. “There’s no walled garden and no set store to buy from. We provide the hardware and you can get the Android games from anywhere you like. M.O.J.O. comes pre-loaded with Google Play and NVIDIA TegraZone.
