This includes the wide receiver position in particular, as Madden 23 has continuously produced some star studded wideouts that would cause any defense trouble, no matter the lineup they’re in.

Not to fret! We’re here to help with just that by providing you with our very own Madden 23 Top 5 Wide Receivers in MUT.
From their best skill attributes, to their best tier abilities, to their team chemistries, to their physical makeup, we breakdown and analyze it all to determine which Madden 23 Ultimate Team wide receivers deserve to be on this list and why.
Top 5 Wide Receivers In MUT
5. Calvin Johnson (AKA) – 91 Overall
Up first, is the monstrous wide receiver from the Detroit Lions, ‘Megatron’ Calvin Johnson. Standing in at 6’5″ and weighing in at 236 pounds, this Johnson card is easily one of the best in the game and grants your quarterback a deep-threat stud that will rarely be denied on jump ball opportunities down field.
Though the star wide receiver only has team chemistries with the Lions and the Legends teams, this Johnson card is as good as advertised and is very worthy of being in any lineup. On that note, let’s have a look at his best abilities and skill attributes:
Top 5 Abilities:
- Red Zone Threat (3 AP) – Tier 3 Deep In Elite (3 AP) – Tier 3Mid Out Elite (3 AP) – Tier 3Mid In Elite (3 AP) – Tier 3Double Me (3 AP) – X-Factor Ability
Top 5 Skills:
- Jumping (94)Spectacular Catch (94)Deep Route Running (94)Ball Carrier Vision (94)Medium Route Running (91)
4. Donald Driver (Team Diamond) – 92 Overall
One of the biggest standouts from the Team Diamonds program, and particularly from its selection of wide receivers, is Green Bay Packers legend Donald Driver. Coming with a versatile blend of speed, size, and playmaking ability, Driver, at 6’0″ tall and weighing in at 194, is a special talent to have and can flat out burn his opponents with big-time plays.
Similarly to that of Johnson, Driver only has two team chemistries, which include the Packers and the Legends team. That said, he comes with a handful of awesome abilities and skill attributes. Here’s a look at his Top 5 for each:
Outside Apprentice (3 AP) – Tier 3 Slot Apprentice (3 AP) – Tier 3Nightmare Matchup (3 AP) – Tier 3Deep Out Elite (3 AP) – Tier 3Spin Cycle (3 AP) – Tier 3
Change Of Direction (94)Ball Carrier Vision (93)Catch In Traffic (92)Catching (92)Agility (92)
3. Tyreek Hill (Most Feared) – 92 Overall
If you’re looking to acquire one of the two fastest wide receivers in MUT (the other being Devin Hester from the All-Madden drop), the Miami Dolphins Most Feared Champion Tyreek Hill, is the card for you. Though he stands at 5’9″ and weighs in at 185 pounds, Hill makes up for his lack of size with great hands and ‘Cheetah’ like speed that will flat out leave defenders grasping for air as he flies by them.
Hill does only come with two team chemistries, which consist of the Dolphins and the Chiefs. But despite such, Hill does come with a slew of excellent skills and abilities that will make a major difference no matter the team chemistry. We go over his Top 5s down below:
Deep Out Elite (3 AP) – Tier 3Deep In Elite (3 AP) – Tier 3 Outside Apprentice (3 AP) – Tier 3 Slot Apprentice (3 AP) – Tier 3Nightmare Matchup (3 AP) – Tier 3
Change Of Direction (94)Acceleration (94)Speed (93)Deep Route Running (93)Juke Move (93)
2. Jerry Rice (Legends) – 92 Overall
The Legend himself and the greatest wide receiver of all time in San Francisco 49ers Jerry Rice, had to be on this list period. The man was gifted in the NFL and is just as good in Madden 23, bringing one immaculate balance of size (stands 6’2″, weighs in at 200 pounds) , skill, and speed that is hard to come by all in one talent like Rice.
Rice comes with four different team chems that include the 49ers, Seahawks, Raiders, and Legends. Rice is a stacked card that comes with some special abilities and skill attributes that are game changing for any lineup. Let’s have a look:
Outside Apprentice (3 AP) – Tier 3Slot Apprentice (3 AP) – Tier 3Nightmare Matchup (3 AP) – Tier 3Spin Cycle (3 AP) – Tier 3Short In Elite (2 AP) – Tier 2
Change Of Direction (94)Break Tackle (94)Juke Move (93)Spin Move (93)Catching (92)
1. Cooper Kupp (All-Madden Part 2) – 93 Overall
Following the All-Madden Part 2 drop earlier this week, one of the new wide receiver marvels from the drop was going to make the number one spot on this list. And for me, the winner is Los Angeles Rams superstar wideout Cooper Kupp. If you thought Rice is really well-balanced, you’re going to be mind blown by this Kupp card.
Though Kupp only comes with the one team chem (being the Rams), he stands at 6’2″ and weighs in at 208 pounds to go along with some of the best skills and attributes amongst all wide receivers in MUT so far. Here’s a look at each of his Top 5’s:
